Housing Minister Assem el Gazzar issued directives to follow up the work progress of the dam project to be constructed on Rufiji River by the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric firms in Tanzania.

His instructions came in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's assignments to him after assuming his post as housing minister.

During a meeting to follow up progress in building the Tanzanian dam and hydropower plant, he asserted that this project highlights the capability of the Egyptian firms to implement such giant projects abroad.

On his part, the head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction in Egypt, Mahmoud Nassar, said that the project will help Tanzania control water flow during floods and meet its growing electricity needs, promising that all measures are being taken to preserve the environment at the project site.
