President El-Sisi Meets Greek Prime Minister


President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister of Greece Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the sidelines of the European Union-African Union Summit in Brussels.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi praised the deep and distinguished relations between Egypt and Greece, the tangible development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, and the distinguished political coordination between the two countries on issues of common concern. His Excellency expressed his appreciation for Greece's stances toward Egypt, whether at the bilateral level or within the European Union, which reflect the strong, long-standing historical relations between the two countries.

For his part, the Greek Prime Minister affirmed that the close and historical ties between the two countries are special, welcoming the remarkable progress achieved in the bilateral cooperation over the past years. He expressed his country's keenness to continue deepening relations between the two countries in various fields, especially in light of the prominent Egyptian role in strengthening the mechanisms of joint action to face the current crises and challenges in the Mediterranean region. He added that Egypt’s role sets a great example to be followed in maintaining stability and advancing development, economic and social conditions at the regional level.

The Spokesman added that the talks touched on ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries at all levels and a number of regional and international files of common interest.
